Privacy Policy
Friidai is built around a simple promise: AI suggests, you decide. That same respect applies to your data. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
1. Who we are
Friidai (the "Service" — our mobile app and the friidai.com website) is operated by Kode Aap Inc., a company incorporated in Ontario, Canada ("we", "us"). For anything in this policy, contact us at support@friidai.com.
2. What we collect
Information you provide
- Your tasks and brain dumps. The text you capture in Friidai — task titles, notes, categories, and the raw brain-dump text you type — is stored in your account so the app can work across sessions and devices.
- Account details (optional). You can use Friidai as a guest without creating an account. If you choose to sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address from that provider.
- Preferences. Your daily-rhythm settings (wake, sleep, and focus times), timezone, life categories, and scheduling preferences.
- Feedback. If you send feedback from inside the app, we receive your message, basic device information (model, app version, platform), and a screenshot only if you attach one.
- Newsletter email (website). If you subscribe to our newsletter on friidai.com, we collect your email address through our email provider, with confirmation (double opt-in). You can unsubscribe with one click in any email.
Information collected automatically
- A device identifier. Guest accounts are created with a random identifier generated for your device — no name or email is required.
- Usage analytics. We use PostHog and our hosting provider's analytics to understand which features are used and how the app performs (for example, screens viewed and feature events). We use this to improve Friidai, not to build advertising profiles.
- Crash and error reports. We use Sentry to receive technical error reports so we can fix problems.
- Subscription status. If you subscribe to Friidai Plus or Pro, our subscription partner RevenueCat tells us your subscription tier and status. We never see your payment card details — billing is handled entirely by Apple or Google.
- AI usage counters. We count how many AI actions your account uses each month to enforce plan limits.
3. Your calendar
Calendar access is optional. If you grant it, Friidai reads your device calendar locally to plan around your commitments, and can write tentative task blocks into your calendar.
4. How AI processing works
When you ask Friidai to sort a brain dump, categorize tasks, or plan your day, the relevant text (your brain-dump text, task titles, and category names) is sent securely to our AI service providers — currently Anthropic and our infrastructure provider's AI gateway — to generate the result, acting as data processors on our behalf.
- We do not use your content to train AI models, and we do not permit our providers to use it for training under the API terms we rely on.
- Our own AI logs record technical metrics (model used, timing, token counts) — not the content of your tasks.
- AI output is a recommendation. You can change any suggestion.

6. Where your data lives
Our servers and service providers are primarily located in the United States. By using Friidai you understand your information may be stored and processed outside your home country, protected by the safeguards in this policy and our providers' agreements.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your account data for as long as your account exists so the Service can function. Feedback reports and technical logs are kept only as long as needed for support and debugging. If you delete your account (see below), we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where a longer period is required by law.
8. Your rights and choices
- Access, correction, export. You can view and edit your tasks and settings in the app. Email us for a copy of your data.
- Deletion. Email support@friidai.com from your account email (or with your device identifier for guest accounts) and we will delete your account and personal data. An in-app deletion option is coming.
- Calendar & notifications. Both are optional and controlled in your device settings at any time.
- Newsletter. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe.
Depending on where you live (including Canada under PIPEDA, the EEA/UK under GDPR, and California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have additional legal rights — such as objecting to processing or lodging a complaint with your privacy regulator. We honor these requests regardless of where you live. We do not sell your personal information.
9. Children
Friidai is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Access to production systems is restricted, and sign-in tokens are stored in your device's secure storage. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you of any breach as required by law.
11. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
